Dhikala Zone (Core Zone)
The Dhikala Zone is the largest and most popular tourism zone in Jim Corbett National Park. Known as the heart of Corbett, it is famous for its high tiger density and picturesque landscapes. Visitors can witness herds of elephants, spotted deer, crocodiles, and countless bird species while exploring the area. The Dhikala Forest Lodge, located inside the core zone, offers a rare opportunity to stay amidst the wild. Entry to this zone is through the Dhangarhi Gate, about 18 km from Ramnagar. Dhikala is the best zone for wildlife photographers and those who want the most authentic Corbett experience.
2. Bijrani Zone
Bijrani Zone is one of the most beautiful zones in Jim Corbett, known for its open grasslands, dense Sal forests, and excellent tiger sighting records. The zone’s rich biodiversity and scenic beauty make it highly preferred among tourists. Jeep safaris in Bijrani are ideal for spotting tigers, elephants, deer, and a wide range of bird species. The entry to Bijrani is through the Amdanda Gate, located just 2 km from Ramnagar. This zone is easily accessible and perfect for those looking for both wildlife adventure and convenience.
3. Jhirna Zone
Jhirna Zone is the only zone in Jim Corbett National Park that remains open to visitors throughout the year, even during the monsoon season.
